The masterplan, which has been approved by Aberdeen City Council, includes an arena, conference halls, a subterranean multipurpose space, conference halls, a four-star 200 bed Hilton hotel adjoining The Event Complex Aberdeen (TECA), a 150 bed three-star Aloft Hotel and an Energy Centre. A further budget hotel is planned.
There are 1250 car spaces in the subterranean multipurpose space when not in exhibition mode and a surface car park.
The masterplan also establishes a variety of plots for future development which include potential for 60,000 square metres of office space and 6,000 square metres of leisure space.
Planning Permission in Principle has been granted for the full masterplan.
An Energy Centre is being constructed as part of the construction work currently ongoing. The Energy Centre comprises a hydrogen fuel cell and CHP units to provide sustainable power, heating and cooling to the development.
